What is the program design?

The Find a Group search tool is provided as a free promotional resource to local churches. In order for your group to qualify for a free listing, your group must operate the way the program was designed. This ensures that people searching for a group online will be connected to groups similar to what is described on the website.

Here are the key elements of the Program Design:

  • All 13 session topics are presented
Each topic is carefully crafted to meet the needs of people in your groups.
NOTE: Without affecting your ministry, you may shorten your 13-week cycle to a minimum of 11-week cycle by combining session topics and extending your schedule an extra 30-minutes to allow for adequate discussion time on each session topic. You may also extend beyond the 13-week cycle to incorporate an Orientation or Celebration Sessions.
  • Each session lasts at least 90 minutes
To insure adequate time for all the session activities, your group should meet for at least 90 minutes. A two-hour length is preferable.
  • Each participant receives a workbook
Each participant will interact with the workbook during each weekly session and at home during the week. It is essential that each person in your group have a personal copy.

Only groups that operate in compliance with the Program Design qualify for a listing on the Find a Group search engine and access to online session videos. Use of the GriefShare/DivorceCare name and trademark is limited to groups that operate according to the Program Design.

Right of Refusal

As a religious, non-profit organization, we are committed to upholding our deeply-held religious beliefs and values as defined in our Statement of Faith. As part of this objective, we must reserve the right to exercise discretion in our ministry relationships, including not partnering with certain churches, organizations, or entities that do not align with our values and doctrinal affirmations. Our decision to partner with or engage in any ministry relationship will be guided by our commitment to our Statement of Faith’s theological and moral principles. We assert this right in accordance with our religious convictions and the liberties afforded to us under applicable laws.

Church Discretion

As a church-equipping ministry, our goal is to empower churches to provide a comforting, respectful, and welcoming environment where all who seek support can find God’s love and comfort through our resources and materials. While we require that churches facilitate our programs according to Program Design, and we may choose to offer certain services and resources only to those churches aligning with our Statement of Faith, we also respect the local church’s autonomy and sole discretion in establishing group-participation and attendance guidelines that align with their specific ministry objectives, congregational needs, and doctrinal convictions.
