Return and Refund Policy for GriefShare and DivorceCare Resources

At Church Initiative, we are committed to providing resources that meet the needs of churches and individuals navigating seasons of grief and separation. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.


📖 Physical individual book sales

Return eligibility

Books purchased directly by individuals (not as part of a ministry kit) may be returned within 30 days of the original purchase only if they are unused and received in resellable condition (no markings, damage, or visible wear).

Important return packaging information:

  1. Inspect your materials to ensure they are in pristine condition to be put back into inventory.
  2. Use fresh packing material to ensure the materials don’t shift during shipping. The original kit packaging was designed to be used one time only.
  3. Most important, please repackage the materials in a new, sturdy box to protect your return so it arrives undamaged and in resellable condition.
  4. Include the original shipping receipt if you have it, or your name, full address, and phone number, and email. This will help us correctly process your refund.

Refunds

Once returned items are received and inspected:

  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
  • Processing may take up to 10 business days after the return is received.
  • Shipping charges are nonrefundable, except in cases of error or damage on our part.

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • Use a trackable shipping method to ensure proper delivery.

💼 Ministry kit purchases (church orders)

We offer a 30-Day, no-questions-asked return guarantee on GriefShare and DivorceCare Ministry Kits.

What’s covered

  • Ministry kits/bundles can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of delivery.
  • Items do not need to be unopened, although we ask that materials be returned in like new condition to be resellable to others interested in ministry.
  • Return shipping is not covered, unless the kit was damaged upon receipt or order was incorrect.
  • Resupply orders (workbooks, brochures, flyers, etc.) are nonreturnable.

  • Contact our support team prior to returning to initiate a ministry kit return.

This policy is designed to give churches the confidence to evaluate our programs risk-free.


💻 Digital books

All digital books are non-returnable and non-refundable once accessed or downloaded. 


🚚 Undeliverable or incorrectly addressed shipments

Please double-check your shipping address before completing your order. Church Initiative (GriefShare/DivorceCare) is not responsible for packages lost due to incorrect or incomplete address information provided at checkout.

If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address:

  • We will review package contents for salability.
  • Contact you to arrange reshipment
  • You will be responsible for the cost of reshipping.

If a package is not returned to us and is lost due to an incorrect address entered by the customer:

  • The customer is responsible for the full cost of the materials, and no refund will be approved.
  • A replacement order will require a new purchase and shipping payment.

We appreciate your attention to detail when entering shipping information to ensure successful delivery.


🛠 Damaged or incorrect orders

If your physical order arrives damaged or you receive an item you did not order:

  • Notify us within 7 days of delivery.
  • We will arrange a replacement and cover return shipping if necessary.

👕 Merchandise (apparel, notebooks, etc.)—fulfilled by printful

Branded merchandise is fulfilled through Printful, and returns follow Printful’s policies, available here: Printful Return Policy

Key points

  • Returns are not accepted due to wrong addresses or unclaimed shipments.
  • Buyer’s remorse or size exchanges are not accepted.
  • Claims for misprinted, damaged, or defective items must be submitted to Church Initiative within 30 days of receiving the product.
  • Please provide details of the issues and photos if available.
  • Do not send these items back before contacting Church Initiative so we can reach out to the merchandise vendor on your behalf and provide return shipping details.
  • For packages lost in transit, claims must be submitted within 30 days of the estimated delivery date. If an issue is determined to be the vendor’s fault, they will cover the return and reshipment costs. The return address defaults to the vendor facility.

EU consumers: Printful reserves the right to deny returns under Directive 2011/83/EU for customized or unsealed goods.
